I'm an electrician by trade. I started my apprenticeship in IBEW Local 640 in 1988 and graduated in 1992.   After graduation, I received my Washington State electrician license in 1992. In 1993, I received my Electrical Administrator license. I worked in commercial and heavy industrial construction for over 20 years. Then, I went to work for a small Mom-and-Pop commercial aircraft manufacturer in Everett, Washington, as an electronics technician. I work primarily on robotic arms, automated ground vehicles, material lifts...

I've always been interested in computers, going back to DOS 2.1 on 5 1/4" floppies, yes, we've come a long way. In 1995, I stumbled across Linux and downloaded Red Hat 2.0, I think. Then, around 2001, I ran across a reference: FreeBSD: An Open-Source Operating System for Your Personal Computer, 2nd Edition, Annelise Anderson.

Today, I have 7 computers and 2 Raspberry PI's running various forms open source operating systems. So, II reserve the right to be completely wrong about anything I post,
even in the face of irrefutable evidence.
